Per the suggestions of The_Equivocator, I have changed Team links (how to join, team stats, team forum, DC FAQS, etc) to be static on ALL pages.
Project specific links now appear in the Welcome block at the top of each project. Navigate to a project home page (click a link under the "Projects" block on the left hand side of the page), and look for the red links in the Welcome block. There are probably still a few quirks with this setup, but we'll work through them.

So what's the deal with the low number of active users in all the projects (with the exception to RC5-72)? After creating these neat-looking graphs to show quick statistics for each of our projects, I was curious to notice how low the blue bar (indicative of percentage of total users for the project that have been recently active) is on the various projects.
We need to get some competitions going, drives to get users to stay active and output for their respective DC project(s).
[Update: I guess this is more of a discussion posting that "news", so please post comments here: Low Participation?]

I have fixed some of the overlapping css and (x)html that was giving Windows IE6 display issues.
IE6 apparently can't properly "pad" a table cell with a background image, instead creating whitespace below the cell equal to the size of the padding declaration. Ugh... I think I would hate being a full-time web designer just for the very reason that your work will ***NEVER*** look the same on any browser (unless, of course, the entire page were a single image or completely flash-based -- both of which are a bit overkill and often useless).
UPDATE: Minor fixes to css and header file. Logo now is only one image, eliminately nasty breaks in iCab (but not fixing much else, though, in that browser). Story editor now no longer shows broken images.

Tonight at about 6PM AZ time I'll be taking the stats server offline for sometime between one and four hours to make some network changes.
Update: It's back up now. Stats included.

I've fixed the Quick stats for each section, although the data will be delayed a bit (based on when I copy the data manually). This is just a temporary solution until reader50 has the time to update his cron job that automatically uploads the quick stats data.
[UPDATE: The quick stats are now fully automated and update every 15 minutes as before. Enjoy!]
We still need to fix links on the teamstats.macnn.com page (and probably update the look a bit). I'll look into that.

The new team site is up and ready for your use. For some pointers about the new layout and new functionality, please continue reading.
1. Login - for added functionality (profiles, submitting stories/events/links, etc) please sign up as a new user and login. Currently, we do not have the ability to use your MacNN forum login/pass, so this is completely separate.
2. Comments - add comments to stories and news items!
3. Projects - By clicking on a project name, you can see that project's Team MacNN page complete with links to the project, team stats and quick stats block.
4. Quick Stats - each "section" or project has a quick stats block that show that projects statistics.
Keep reading for more...

The new site is being rapidly finished (while attention is given to every detail). We went off for a while, as I am a full time student who also works. In the meantime, Geeklog has been updated to provide for some security fixes to avoid hackers from uploading malicious code. Also, one can see the new graphics I have put into Geeklog, something I wanted to do to provide a better look for the site (while still maintaining a fairly low graphical load).
The HTML for the index page has been validated to XHTML 1.0 Transitional, and I will work at checking the HTML for the various other pages. CSS also validates. A ton of the layout has been moved to CSS and cleaned up to provide for quick and easy maintenance.
Quick stats are in place and waiting for data from reader. I need to come up with a way to link to the Team Stats directly.
Finally, we'll go live once my list is completed and the Geeklog development team releases a final 1.3.8 version (we're using 1.3.8 release candidate 1).
